I’m a fairly petite person so wearing midi length clothing takes a little more thought. However, it does make it easier for work since you don’t have to worry about the length. It also comes across a little more polished. I thought I would share tips on how to style midi length clothing.
Define Your Waist
To elongate your frame, you should create a clear definition. Define your waist. Color blocking is really effective for that as well. If you’re not going to tuck in your short, try wearing a thicker belt.
Wear Heels for Closed Toe Shoes
Along with defining your waist with this peplum top, wear heels if your wearing closed toe shoes. Preferably at least 2.5 inches. I am 45 years old, so it’s wedged and block heals for me. Also, slightly pointed and rounded shoe helps elongate as well. For someone short like me, creating length is the goal when wearing midi length clothing.
When wearing flats, choose sandals
I had to go straight from work to traveling yesterday, so I needed to wear comfortable shoes. I love traveling in this midi dress because the material is so soft and it moves well for all day wear. I created definition by doing a tied waist. Since I had to wear flats, the better option for midi lengths are sandals. Standard close toe flats tends to shorten your frame.
